Adele Berlin, "Rejoinder to John A Miles, Jr, With Some Observations on the Nature of Prophecy," Jewish Quarterly Review 66 (1976): 227-235.
In the January 1975 issue of JQR J. A. Miles Jr. claimed that the Book of Jonah was a parody, presenting five points to support his assertion. Berlin's rejoinder seeks to refute his claim by "showing the weakness of all five points in his argument," and attempts to "show how the Book of Jonah can be understood as a serious statement about prophecy," discussing the problem of the true prophet versus the false prophet, concluding that the Book of Jonah "illustrates the inability of a true prophet to prove his veracity" and the discomfort that results.
